Receive up to a $35,250 (pre-tax) stipend spread evenly over 11 months
Earn up to $10,000 (pre-tax) in education awards upon completion of 1700 hours

$300 in professional development funds
Minimum essential healthcare coverage
Forbearance on qualifying student loans and interest payments accrued during the term

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be a US Citizen, US National or lawful US resident to participate*
Commitment to the full term of service (1700+ hours over 11 months)
Capable of working an 8-hour workday, 5 days per week
Must not be enrolled in undergraduate courses between Sep 21, 2026 – Aug 13, 2027
Must have no criminal history of violent or sexual offenses**
*Please note that we are currently unable to accept applicants with student visas (e.g., F1 or F2 student visas, J1 or J2 exchange visitor visas, G series visas, etc.) or individuals with deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) status. If offered a position within the program, all Fellows will be required to provide documentation as proof of US residency status.
**All Fellows will undergo criminal and sexual offender background checks
This Fellowship requires completion of 1,700 service hours over an 11-month term, serving full-time at 40 hours per week. Schedules vary by host partner and may include occasional evenings or weekends depending on project needs. Of the 1,700 hours, 170–340 hours are dedicated to professional development. This is a full-time commitment; students enrolled in undergrad classes are not eligible to participate in the program
10-20% (170-340 hours) of fellow hours are dedicated to fostering the fellow's personal and professional development
Fellows can accrue vacation time and have approximately 14 Holidays, which align with the respective host sites schedule
All Fellowship positions are on-site or hybrid; there are no fully remote positions available in this program, serving at least 3 days per week
1. Apply and Join an Info Session
Applications are open from May 1 - July 31, with a priority deadline of June 19. Applicants may choose up to five preferred positions.
All applicants must attend an info session to qualify for interviews.
2. Host Partner Review and Interview
Applications are shared with host partners for review and interview consideration. Host partners will conduct interviews from May - August.
Interviews are not guaranteed to all applicants.
3. Offer Notification and Onboarding
CA Climate Action Corps program staff will extend offers from May - August. Candidates have three business days to accept offers.
After accepting an offer, candidates must submit the required documents within seven business days to begin onboarding
