Host partners receive 2 or more full-time CCAC fellows for an 11-month, on-site term of service. Fellows are paid AmeriCorps members who receive training and support throughout the term—providing your organization with dedicated capacity at no cost.
As a Host Partner, you gain:

We accept applications from non-profits, public agencies, tribes, cities/counties, special districts and educational institutions. Host partners must align with the program's sector areas: urban greening, wildfire resilience and organic waste and edible food recovery.
Ongoing projects must align with these areas:
✅ Urban Greening: tree canopy and native plant restoration, expanding green spaces, restoring waterways or creating community gardens
✅ Wildfire Resilience: defensible space and vegetation management, post-fire reforestation and restoration, fire-wise land stewardship
✅ Organic Waste & Edible Food Recovery: recovering and redistributing surplus edible food, composting food scraps, diverting organic waste from landfills
For-profit organizations are not eligible to apply.
Host partners must demonstrate strong systems to support their fellows’ professional development. CA Climate Corps is designed to build skills for careers in climate and sustainability. To ensure a successful partnership, please note a few key program expectations.
Host Partners must have the capacity to:
✅ Host a minimum of 2 fellows and provide essential workplace provisions—desk, computer, workspace essentials, etc...
✅ Provide 40 hours of service per week (in-person or hybrid) with at least 2 days per week on-site. Fully remote positions are not allowed
✅ Provide a dedicated site supervisor with capacity for weekly check-ins and ~10 hrs/month of supervision per fellow
✅ Assist with program requirements such as recruitment, training and monthly climate impact reporting
